I found this little toy at the New York Times via The Political Commentator that lets you see how many other households in America are like yours. My husband said to me once not too long ago that we're different. I kind of brushed it off, and he's like, no we're really, really different.

ReplyDeleteRaising families was considered a patriotic duty in the early years (1900 on the chart), and after WWII (obvious). Now with feminism (I believe women should do what they want to do) and lack of family for a number of assorted reasons, - higher taxes for married - no WIC checks for married, etc Americans are not producing enough offspring to counter the muslims and minorities - in my opinion. If I'm wrong about that then we are very solidly on the path to being breed out by enemies and folks who simply do not understand or participate in Capitalism.
It's not going to get better anytime soon.

ReplyDeleteI don't know that it was a patriotic duty, but contraception was viewed as evil as abortion in those days. The Comstock laws made it illegal to buy or sell contraceptives because it was believed that contraception would lead to a total collapse of civilization. Boy, glad they were wrong about that! Oh, wait..
ReplyDeleteThe only reason Americans have a stable birth rate is because of Mexican immigrants. I would argue that most Americans don't understand or participate in capitalism, either. haha.
The elite planners know that birth rates play a huge part in social engineering. Read the old Rockefeller Foundation minutes or Kissingers's Population Control NSA memo about how to reduce birth rates.
btw, Married people can get WIC if they are poor enough, I know I did.
All good points. You might find this interesting - I said patriotic because I was thinking of my Father and his brother my Uncle. Both were Army in WWI and spent 4 years all over Europe. I know when they came back or shortly after the cold war was pretty front in people's minds, especially after what they all just went through. My Dad and Mom had 4 kids, (I was born early 50's) and my Uncle and Aunt had 6.
ReplyDeleteMy dad had my older brother and me down in the basement shooting .22 rifle when we were about 7, into the boy scouts and encouraged all the little things that would make one a capable man.
I think the cold war was at least partially responsible.
