The Bonus Army

Listen to the Octogenerian explain the history of the Bonus Army, World War I veterans who were promised a bonus by the USG. Often, the USG lies and short-shrifts. The Bonus Army was the original veteran march on Washington. Of course they called them commies and other names. That's what being a patriot gets you these last 100 years, generally it gets you called nuts. That piece of paper called the Constitution is all in you head, etc.

I can't wait until we get to this period in the presidency of FDR in my book-blogging series, Wall Street and FDR, to see if and how the Bonus Army incident was mentioned..

I believe I told you that Mr. Paul Warburg had been in conference with Senator Owen and Mr. Untermeyer. I inclose you his answer to their argument in favor of the issuance of currency by the Government. His reasons seem to me to be conclusive. Why venture along uncertain paths when a well known road can be used? For a moment before I left I thought, perhaps, a compromise might be considered, but I doubt whether it would be safe to conceed the least which they would be willing to accept. The situation is a difficult one and I am sorry that I am not near to lend what help I might.

Senator Brandegee Suicide or Cold Case?

The year is 1924 and The Evening Tribune of Rhode Island is reporting that Senator Brandegee of Connecticut has committed suicide by gas in his upstairs bathroom.

The suicide note read:

October 13, 1924

Dear George:

I enclose $100 dollars for you and $100 dollars for Emma and Rufus.

I am up in the bathroom on the top floor near 17th Street. The top floor. The one above the room I sleep on. 

If you or Lundy come up there beware of the gas.

Goodbye.

Frank B. Brandegee

George was his chauffeur and Emma and Rufus his servants. The red portion of the note was written in red crayon, which is odd. I guess no one wanted to confuse George. According to the article, he went out riding around with his secretary W. Lundy the day before who said he appeared to be in a great mood. But that doesn't always mean anything in these cases. He was heard moving around upstairs later that day, but the next morning, they found that his bed had not been slept on, but contained the suicide note. He was discovered in the bathroom with his head on a folded up bath rug and holding the gas tube, which was still attached to the open valve. He as fully dressed. The doctors arrived on the scene at 10 am and said he appeared to be dead for about 5 or 6 hours. He didn't have any family, thank goodness.

Senator Frank Brandegee was a great ally of Henry Cabot Lodge as was a big, big opponent of the League of Nations. The official line of why this man would have killed himself was that he was having financial troubles. This could very well have been true, but it seems odd that the RNC Secretary Weeks would issue a statement saying:

"I exceedingly regret to learn that Senator Frank B Brandegee has committed suicide. I have been entirely familiar with his personal business affairs and I know that the reason for him taking this rash step is due to personal financial troubles resulting from investments in real estate."

 

A headline the Baltimore Sun said:
Claims Filed Against Estate Of Connecticut Senator Who Committed Suicide LIABILITIES ARE $150,000 Secretary Mellon And Several Colleagues In Upper House Among Creditors

Several more newspaper articles indicate he was borrowing a lot of money. My thoughts go immediately to blackmail. Secretary Mellon is Andrew Mellon, who is the great uncle of Richard Schaife, who is a big patron to Mark Levin's Landmark Legal Foundation and funds many things you are probably not aware of.


Anyhow, other newspaper clippings reported that a mysterious woman came forth as a witness and delivered a letter to Senator Coleman Blease of South Carolina, who handed it over to a Senate committee investigating the DC police for incompetence. The letter indicated that there was knowledge that Senator Brandegee had been murdered.  

I can't seem to find that subcommittee to see what happened, I'm guessing not much.


It would seem that Frank Brandegee gave a speech on William McKinley, who you might remember met with an untimely end also.

He was the son of Augustus Brandegee, who was a US Representative. Both father and son were Skull and Bones for those of you looking out for that kind of thing. 


Frank Brandegee was opposed to the Versailles Treaty (which many have claimed laid a clear path for World War 2), women's suffrage, prohibition, child labor laws, and the League of Nations. This garnered him enough enemies that elements of both parties joined forces to try to unseat him.  Pretty much everything the progressives were for, he was against.

This thing is five hours, but is superior to several years of traditional schooling and hours of History Channel viewing. You do know that the History Channel is owned by the following: A&E Television Networks(Hearst Corporation (42.5%),Disney-ABC Television Group(42.5%), NBCUniversal (15%)) Yes, that would be our SOPA loving friends the banksters.

I would note that General Smedley Butler predicted Pearl Harbor in his War is a Racket written in 1938:

In the Orient the maneuvering is more adroit. Back in 1904, when Russia and Japan fought, we kicked out our old friends the Russians and backed Japan. Then our very generous international bankers were financing Japan. Now the trend is to poison us against the Japanese. What does the "open door" policy to China mean to us? Our trade with China is about $90,000,000 a year. Or the Philippine Islands? We have spent about $600,000,000 in the Philippines in thirty-five years and we (our bankers and industrialists and speculators) have private investments there of less than $200,000,000.

Two Trends Destroying America

Turning a comment of  mine into a post at the suggestion of The Country Thinker. Saw this wonder article at The Classic Liberal on pragmatism and egalitarianism, which was reposted from "Two Insidious Trends in America" by Tibor Machan.

Two powerful intellectual developments are ruining America. One is egalitarianism, the other pragmatism.
The former is an effort at the highest levels of American education, at institutions such as Harvard University and the University of Chicago, for example, to help establish a regime or political system that has as its firm and unrelenting goal to make all people equal in the benefits and burdens they enjoy and shoulder in their lives – economic, educational, medical, psychological, etc. The clarion call of this movement is to demand government mandated fairness for everyone.
The latter, pragmatism, is also being promulgated at some of the most prominent and prestigious institutions of higher education. This is a broad philosophical school of thought, originally forged on American soil by the likes of Charles Peirce, William James, C. I. Lewis, John Dewey, and numerous others, including the most radical member of the school, the later Richard Rorty; it insists that no basic principles can be identified in any area of human concern, not in ethics, not politics, not even metaphysics or epistemology (or theory of knowledge). Instead of finding basic principles on which to rest one's reasoning and actions – in morality or law, for instance – an attitude of practical expediency is all that human beings can hope for.
"Whatever works," is the simplified motto of pragmatism but there is a big problem with this, since things work always with respect to some goal and certain goals are clearly not worth pursuing, others are. Pragmatism insists, however, that there is no way to tell which goals are important, which are trivial and which are out and out insidious. That is all a matter of the intuitions of those who are in charge of calling the shots. (Currently, for example, President Obama and his team – most notably Professor Cass Sunstein of the Harvard Law School – proclaim the superior merit of pragmatism and pursue workable approaches to solving problems they feel need solving.)
Both egalitarianism and pragmatism tend to unleash an army of government regulators upon members of society, in the effort to cut everyone down to the same size and achieve goals the leaders believe need to be achieved, respectively. But both of these outlooks are hopeless, futile and must produce confusion and the tyranny of some people over others. As a result, the egalitarian objectives will mostly turn out exactly as George Orwell indicated in his novella, Animal Farm, namely, a group of members of society will be running the show and thus defeat the very idea of equality among human beings. And given how unprincipled conduct also encourages the rise of elites and petty tyrants, pragmatism also produces very bad public policies. Moreover, the pragmatist agenda flies directly in the face of some of the most noble aspects of the American political tradition, namely, the rule of law and the Founders' declaration of the vital need for basic principles, such as individual human rights within the legal system. (Cass Sunstein explicitly insists that such rights do not exist and the only "rights" you have is what the government grants you!)

Which got me thinking about all I have learned and discovered over the last year, making me comment thusly:

Both of these trends were set into motion by the monied interests who gave us the Fed and the IRS.
They took over education in this country starting with the General Education Board and then using their Foundations. These aren’t ideas that flow naturally, like a strip mall placed in a serene meadow, they vex the very souls of men. 

• Feminism, to destroy the family.
•  A permanent warfare state, to destroy peace. 
• Devalued currency, to destroy opportunity.
•  A socialist workforce public education, to destroy the mind.
•  A tax-exempt beholden church, to stymie God’s Word. 

All of these ills came from these two ideas, and one can trace it all back to that same bunch who wrote that they wanted a planned society. Like the Tower of Babel, man’s plans will surely be altered.


So all you Christians out there, we've all got our different epistemologies, but in the end, I think we can see that the Antichrist's kingdom is taking shape all around us. We see that old snake ever so stealthily putting in regulations, granting licenses to work, tracking who is born and their immunization levels, monitoring our bank records, phone calls, and movements. And its always, always for our own good.

The American Revolution is NEVER Over

But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

So was money somehow connected with Lucifer's rebellion in Heaven, for the Scripture says that money is the root of all evil. No, love of power was Satan's motive, and in our sphere here on earth money=power, power=money.

What does that have to do with Independence Day, mama, you may be asking. The idea that a people. need not be governed by a centrally oppressive entity was indeed a revolutionary idea. Even though this is God's ideal government as set up in the book of Judges, with each city in the promised land handling its own affairs, man's sinful heart yearns for a central power to idolatarize. Witnessing the abuses of a tyrannical government, our forefathers set up to craft a document that took into account the sinful nature of man and set barriers to monopolizing power. Time after time, year after year, dark forces have been at work to break down those barriers. Let's briefly recap our history from the "love of money" viewpoint.

I don't need to give you a history lesson on the British, their central bank, and the untapped wealth of our new continent. What most of us fail to realize is that this same group of central banksters has tried again and again to financially conquer our country.

"History records that the money changers have used every form of abuse, intrigue, deceit, and violent means possible to maintain their control over governments by controlling money and it's issuance“
- President James Madison (1809-1817) 

The War of 1812, a war whose cause only 1 in 10,000 Americans could probably tell you, was another British-banking production. Running thin on naval recruits, the British navy took to capturing American ships and pressing its sailors into service. Add to that interference with our expanding nation, James Madison asked Congress for a Declaration of War, found here detailing the precise reasons. Failing militarily, the British banking interests try to get us subtly by taking over our banks. Enter Andrew Jackson. 'nuff said?

“All the perplexities, confusion and distress in America arise not from defects in our Constitution; not from want of honour or virtue, so much as from downright ignorance of the nature of coin, credit and circulation.”

 So for the rest of the 19th century, our country hums along, except for the bloody Civil War in which you will find British banking interests trying to profit where they can. Note that I'm not picking on the British by describing the banking interests that way, but that at the time, that was the center of "love of money" banking.

"The few who understand the system will either be so interested in its profits or so dependent on its favours that there will be no opposition from that class, while on the other hand, the great body of the people mentally incapable of comprehending the tremendous advantage that capital derives from the system will bear its burdens without complaint and perhaps without even suspecting that the system is inimical to their interests."
- John Sherman letter sent to New York bankers, Morton, and Gould, in support of the then proposed National Banking Act, 1863

 Some speculate that Abraham Lincoln may have been assassinated over his support of congressionally approved Greenbacks that cut out the central bankers. Of course John Wilkes Booth may just have been "crazy", but isn't every single assassin in American history been "crazy"?

So the rest of the 19th century hums along and the people increase in wealth and security, so much so that immigrants flock in to partake. But in the meantime, the banksters are still at it. When one traces back the fortunes of the Robber Barons, one finds huge interlock between them and the large banking houses of Europe. Centralization of industry and finance quickly followed in the wake of the Civil War. This didn't impact the average American, save for the Farmer who had a next to impossible time getting the credit he needed to make it. Thus the populist parties emerged to address this problem.

Things came to a head in the fateful year of 1913, already having carried out a false flag financial attack (Panic of 1907) to scare the Congress into passing the Federal Reserve Act, the big banksters got all five fingers around America's money. The same year they also got the Income Tax Amendment, although some dispute the integrity of that process. It is interesting to note that all these big money people also chose that year (+/- a couple) to start getting into tax-exempt philanthropy. Funny how that works, huh? One would also note that these tax-exempt foundations all worked very hard from that point on to "reform" our country by getting in on the ground level of our countries great institutions.

Our education system, for example, was corrupted by these foundations. For they said that our teachers shouldn't be chosen by a school board elected by the community, but each teacher had to be licensed. Where could one obtain a teacher's license, why from one of these foundation's approved schools of course! What was taught at these schools? The latest in psychology and German thought control education. Look to one of my other posts on education to get the whole story, but suffice to say, the battle for American Independence can only be won with facts. These banksters have worked overtime for decades to ensure that the American people, once the most well-read and morally astute people in the world would descend into an Eloi (HG Wells was one of them, btw) - like ignorance devoid of any sense of propriety - causing a decimation of our families, the building block of society. For if you can't count on your family to love and sustain you, you'll be forced into the arms of the state. With record numbers on food stamps, (a JP Morgan Chase operation, btw), can you not see why Jefferson advocated an agrarian country?

I know some of you say that its not practical for all of us to "go Amish". But that's not the point, the point is one of self-sufficiency. If you aren't dependent on anyone but your two hands and God, then you are truly free. Those seeking the money dripping off a captive market can't have that - they've bought up a lot of the land and have always been the enemies of the American farmer. Maybe its time we stop buying all of our food at the store and from our local farmers and shift what little money we have left away from the tapeworm of central banking and into our beautiful country.

There is in man, a powerful desire to be like the "father of lies" and obtain as much power as he possibly can. On fallen planet earth, the vehicle that power rides in is money. We are blessed to live in God's richest nation, blessed with every type of natural resource available. To think that the Devil wouldn't go after and oppose such a country founded on God's principles of government is beyond naive.

So patriots, what are you going to do about it? First thing  to do is to arm yourself with the facts - like reading this blog! Those tyrants who have worked to game our system by manipulating our money bank on your ignorance. In fact, they have spent millions if not billions to ensure that they have complete control of our educational system and that it not include subjects like Bible, logic, true blue Constitutional history, Austrian economics, etc. So spread the knowledge, and help your country.

100 Years of Banksters - Some Things Never Change!

A great passage from Charles A. Lindberg's book, Why Your Country is at War. I have emphasized the parts we have recently experienced. This is a mock conversation between a politician, a bankster (probably a direct forebear of JP Morgan Chase), and a farmer.

Tell me if you're not blown away by the similarities.

THE FARMER AND WALL STREET SPECULATOR AFT'ER EMERGENCY CURRENCY

Mr. Politician: Good morning, Mr. Speculator; what brought you to Washington again and at such a time as this? I thought when we gave you your Federal Reserve Banking System that that would satisfy you forever.

Mr. Speculator: Good morning, Mr. Politician. Don't twit me of the past. I wish to see you in private till we can talk over the most important business that ever was on this earth.

Mr. Politician: You evidently think me high up in the political councils here. I pretend to no such great importance. If you have such important business, there should be more of us in conference. No man is big enough to tackle the most important business ever, but I will listen to what you have to say.

Mr. Speculator: Of course we understand each other, but even at that it may be well for you to practice your modesty—to keep on the safe side. I know the importance of your help. We may as well be perfectly frank with each other. Even the greatest of things must begin some where and with some one. There is absolutely no time to waste. You know I am a product of Wall Street and "big business." I represent it. It is in danger this very minute—unfortunately so, for in spite of its danger, it also has its greatest opportunity. We must have help immediately from Congress, for this sudden war, no one can tell when or where it will end, or who or which nations it will involve. Our business was always on a great scale, but this sudden war burst upon us and we have not the capacity to take advantage of it unless Congress helps us. Financial help we demand. We now control $20,000,000,000 of bank deposits to run the business of the country, including our promoting enterprises. We have some deposits of our own, but who knows when the depositors might start a run, lick up the deposits and prevent our taking advantage of speculating on the war business. War business o'ffers the greatest and the most rapid means of building immense fortunes, something worth while to us Americans. We must act quickly, for now is our opportunity to make America the financial center of the world, and our friends to dominate. Germany is pushing out in every direction her vast armies for invasion. Russia is mobilizing and moving her great forces for action. France is rapidly mobilizing and marching- her armies to hold the Germans in check. England, too, will immediately be in the whirl. The world may soon be at it, and I must inform my people that Congress will extend the unlimited credit of the Government to our banks. Without that immediate assurance, we would be forced to precipitate a panic tomorrow, the likes of which in its trail of financial ruin never has been equalled. What, Mr. Politician, have you to offer by way of suggestion for immediate action?

Mr. Politician: Some proposition this is, that you make—too big for me this morning. We shall have to get more of us together in order to figure out a plan of action and draft some bill to be enacted to give the relief. I am not for placing the financial credit of the Government behind those whom you represent, but we must meet the emergency. We must prepare some bill that will meet it.

Mr. Speculator: "Some bill!" No need to talk about "some bill." We have the plan and the bill prepared already. It is only a question of getting it enacted into law in the least time possible.

The Courage of Stonewall

In the times we live in, a lot of people are overcome with fear. We Christians know that we live in a lost and fallen world headed for judgment. Remember that Jesus said, "Fear not, for I have overcome the world." That sounds good, but sometimes we get all panicky anyway. Sometimes a godly example can help one get their attitude adjusted. Stonewall Jackson was one of the greatest military men that North America ever produced, and his integrity was respected by all who served with him. From the book, America's Providential History, I give you the following excerpt via the work of Mark Grimsley:

He displayed extraordinary calm under fire, a calm too deep and masterful to be mere pretense. His apparent obliviousness to danger attracted notice, and after First Manassas someone asked him how he managed it.

Captain, my religious belief teaches me to feel as safe in battle as in bed,' Jackson explained. 'God has fixed the time for my death. I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready, no matter when it may overtake me.' He added pointedly, 'Captain that is the way all men should live, and then all would be equally brave.'

As field commander, Jackson's religion came into play in various ways. During military operations he prayed frequently, lived simply, and in his reports habitually gave God all credit for the slightest success. 'Without God's blessing,' Jackson declared, 'I look to no success, and for every success my prayer is, that all the glory may be given to Him to whom it is properly due.' Whenever possible he also avoided marching or fighting on the Sabbath.

The perfect peace he exhibited on the battlefield is a testament to the trust we can have in the Lord. There really is nothing in this world that can eternally harm a blood-bought believer of Jesus Christ. This reality is what allowed those early Christians to sing hymns in the arena. Polycarp didn't resist being tied to the burning stake, knowing that he would soon see His Lord. No matter what comes our way, we can live knowing that God is sovereign and will give us the courage we need for every situation.

Remember that today is D-Day and the courage of many bought our freedoms in this temporary life.
Also remember the courage of Jesus to drink from that cup of wrath bought our eternal freedom in our real life.
