Although the women of the United States are confined within the narrow circle of domestic life, and their situation is, in some respects, one of extreme dependence, I have nowhere seen woman occupying a loftier position; and if I were asked... in which I have spoken of so many important things done by Americans, to what the singular prosperity and growing strength of that people ought mainly to be attributed, I should reply, To the superiority of their women.

In Home Interrogations at $30 a Head

The following is a report from a fellow DPer on some strange interrogations from the Department of Human Services. They seem very interested in the drug use of children and won't stop trying to get their information:
************
I received a letter over a month ago from the US Department Health and Human Services (DHHS). They were very excited to announce that my household had been selected to conduct a National Survey on Drug Use and Health.
It further explains that this is the Federal Governments primary source of national data on the use of alcohol, tobacco, and illicit substances.
The survey also contains questions on health and illegal behaviors and other topics associated with substance use.
According to the letter approximately 70,000 individuals, 12 years old and older, will be randomly selected and asked to voluntarily participate.
Included was the name of an organization named RTI that had been contracted to solicit this information from me. They were going to come to my house and ask me or my family members some questions. In return, they would pay each person that participated $30.00 "CASH" for their time.
Yes you heard me right, they want to send a stranger unknown to me, come to my house, sit down with my kids and ask them behavioral questions. In return, they have bribed us with $30.00 each of your money to do this. The whole idea creeps me out!

(Can't help but notice they've broken the country up in the same 10 FEMA regions. When martial law comes down, goodbye state and local governments.)

2 weeks ago I was cleaning my garage when a vehicle pulled into my driveway and a female with a company credential pinned to her chest that said RTI got out of her car and approached me. She said "Sir, may I speak to you for a moment?" I politely said "how may I help you"?
She went through a well rehearsed little script on who she was, why she was here and that the questions were completely confidential. She also said that she wanted to know how many people lived in my household, how many were children and what were their ages?
I immediately told her to please leave and that I had no interest in participating.
She then offered to pay cash for each person she spoke with and preceded her attempt to convince me how this information was extremely helpful to the Federal Government.
I again told her not to try to convince me and that I am 100% sure I did not want to participate so its time to say "goodbye" Incredibly she attempted yet another tactic on me. She said, "I know how you feel, I'm like you"....
I said, you have know idea what your talking about. You have no idea what I'm like!
She then said "I'll just put on my sheet you didn't want to talk. Then said "I'm anti-government too...
I responded and said I never told you I was ant-government and I would like you to please leave! I couldn't believe the gull of this person to come here and interrogate me in my driveway.
***********
I then received a second letter in the mail last week. It went into the fact that someone had stopped by and that they were unable to gather the information they were sent to collect. It requested I call an 800 number whereas they would further explain the importance of the survey. Then it stated that they would be sending someone back out again soon.
***********
This morning my doorbell rings and when I answer there is another lady at the door with the same credential as the first lady. She begins her introduction and I interrupted and said "I know who you are" As I told the first lady I did not want to participate. Then she actually leaned into my door and said " If you have any children, I can just ask them a few questions" ...
I slammed the door nearly hitting her in the face with it.
Do you find this a little odd? The persistence or shall I say " insistence" to speak with my children? or the fact that they have $2.1 million dollars in cash of your tax money at their disposal to use as bribe money?
WTF? Something is very wrong with this picture in a day of super surveillance and a looming fiscal crisis.
What do you think?

Been Meaning to Write

But my problem is, the info is coming like water from a fire hose. That, and I have this thing called real life, which entails getting the kids ready for school  home education. Been cleaning up the downstairs, throwing out broken bits of crayon and what not, making room for a new year. But I've still been listening to the news, wishing like every woman I could split myself into clones: one cleaning, one supervising the kids, one cooking, one doing whatever she wants, and of course, one blogging. So here's what my blogging clone would have written extensive, backlinked posts on these last few days:

Do You Live in a Constitution Free Zone?

Looks like if you live in Hawaii you're out of luck. No Fourth Amendment for you!!

the Constitution-free zone that exists a US borders and airports actually extends 100 air miles inland and encompasses two-thirds of the country's population. The US Border Patrol can set up checkpoints anywhere in this region and question citizens.

How did this come about? The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR - ironic, huh?) last updated 2003 - thank you George Bush, son of CIA.

(2) Reasonable distance. The term reasonable distance, as used in section 287(a) (3) of the Act, means within 100 air miles from any external boundary of the United States or any shorter distance which may be fixed by the chief patrol agent for CBP, or the special agent in charge for ICE, or, so far as the power to board and search aircraft is concerned any distance fixed pursuant to paragraph (b) of this section.

(b) Reasonable distance; fixing by chief patrol agents and special agents in charge. In fixing distances not exceeding 100 air miles pursuant to paragraph (a) of this section, chief patrol agents and special agents in charge shall take into consideration topography, confluence of arteries of transportation leading from external boundaries, density of population, possible inconvenience to the traveling public, types of conveyances used, and reliable information as to movements of persons effecting illegal entry into the United States: Provided, That whenever in the opinion of a chief patrol agent or special agent in charge a distance in his or her sector or district of more than 100 air miles from any external boundary of the United States would because of unusual circumstances be reasonable, such chief patrol agent or special agent in charge shall forward a complete report with respect to the matter to the Commissioner of CBP, or the Assistant Secretary for ICE, as appropriate, who may, if he determines that such action is justified, declare such distance to be reasonable.

Twilight Zone crazy.  Will the real terrorists please stand up??

Highway Robbery in Tennessee

Via Lew Rockwell, the story of a NJ businessmen traveling home with a large amount of cash from a car he had sold on Ebay:

In Tennessee, forfeiture proceedings are conducted ex parte, which means that the judge only heard the thief's side of the story. Reby didn't learn about the hearing until well after the fact — and if he hadn't gone to the media, it's likely he would have lost his money permanently. He had to travel back to Tennessee in order to get a check that was reluctantly written by a police department that refused to apologize for robbing him at gunpoint. Spectacles of this kind are common on Interstate 40 in Tennessee, where officers from two drug task forces prowl the highway in search of cash they can seize through civil asset forfeiture. Kim Helper, District Attorney for Tennessee's 21st Judicial District, insists that the highway robbery scheme is "a way for us to continue to fund our operations so that we can put an end to drug trafficking and the drug trade within this district." Of course, those two objectives — "continued funding" and "an end to drug trafficking" — are mutually incompatible.
By the way, this guy was from the Monterrey Police Department, trolling on I-40 in case you're coming through that way. Want some irony? Larry Bates was awarded Officer of the Year. Maybe he was bringin' home the bacon:

Oh and did I mention that cops are paid out of the loot?

As Nashville's CBS affiliate reported last year, the salaries paid to the officers involved in this highway robbery ring are paid directly out of the cash and other assets seized by them; this means that police often find themselves competing to stop and shake down the same cars, sometimes nearly coming to blows in the process.
You see if you have cash at all, it could have been obtained from selling drugs. That makes you suspicious. Never-mind that Wachovia was caught red-handed laundering drug money through Miami and got a slap on the wrist. If you wanted to stop narcotics trafficking, you'd attempt to stop it at the source by following the money back. There is billions and billions in drug money coming across the border. That's a lot of briefcases {eyeroll}. It's being deposited into the Fed Cartel banks like Wachovia and probably propping them up more than any of us realize. When Gary Webb broke the story that the CIA was responsible for introducing crack to America, he swiftly became depressed and committed suicide by shooting himself twice.

According to the Russian Navosti:
Drug money has become a necessary part of the international monetary system and one of the sources of the financial crisis. The world's largest banks depend on "dirty" but liquid money from drug sales and indirectly encourage the further production of drugs.
Anyone remember when California was going to legalize pot and that Russian big wig came over and said, that's a really, really bad idea. This is because the governments/central banks of the worlds are dependent on drug money and its liquidity to keep themselves propped up.

For your viewing pleasure, check out the Mena Connection- Clinton, CIA, and drugs all rolled up together.

But the point of this post is to beware how we have a separate standards for people wearing a uniform that leads to predatory behavior. We also are seeing a war on cash. Possession of cash = possession of narcotics.
