Although the women of the United States are confined within the narrow circle of domestic life, and their situation is, in some respects, one of extreme dependence, I have nowhere seen woman occupying a loftier position; and if I were asked... in which I have spoken of so many important things done by Americans, to what the singular prosperity and growing strength of that people ought mainly to be attributed, I should reply, To the superiority of their women.

  1. I tis disturbing to me that this report on why the Bay of Pics operation failed did not address why McBundy delayed the air support which was the cause of the fail.

    1. The way the whole operation is explained by the Colonel is that from the original plans, all ten of Castro's jets were to be taken out. Three were in SA when they went to do the job. It was not the delay of air support, which was never in the plan, for all of the airplanes were supposed to be totalled at the point of the invasion, making air cover a moot point. But McBundy and the shadowy figures he represented jumped the gun and went in without those last three jets being taken out first, causing failure.
