Here is Ted's first video making some excellent points about the reality of our situation. I didn't expect the democrat party to be so open to the libertarian way, but Ted says its true. Case in point, the Tennessee Democrat candidate for Senate, Mark Clayton is MORE constitutional than Bob Corker the Democrat. Ted also explains why people of integrity have a hard time taking over the major parties because they have been designed that way by the bosses. I really love the diagram!
Michael Nystrom, the maestro of the Daily Paul has this breakdown of factions in the Ron Paul camp:
- The No One But Paul! faction. Two subsets:
- "Ron Paul can still actually win!"
- "I can't bring myself to vote for anyone else"
- The Vote Gary Johnson faction. Also two subsets:
- GJ can actually win!
- "Let's send a message to the GOP!"
- The I'm not voting for nobody faction. "Voting is a scam, and I refuse to be anyone's monkey."
- The Vote Romney faction. "Because Ron Paul told us to stay in the GOP."
- The Vote Obama faction. "Let's really punish the GOP!"
The whole breaking bones in Louisiana, arresting delegates in Missouri, the rampant election fraud that occurred all over the USA would seem to be coming back down on the Romney as it should.
Some of us don't have the Stockholm Syndrome necessary to vote for Romney. I had battered conservative syndrome for a long time, but after watching John McCain not take on Obama's Marxist background in 2008, I broke free and am enjoying watching politics grounded in REALITY, not spin.
I have a great deal of respect for Ted and all of my libertarian friends. I am almost a libertarian myself. The difference I have is their deconcept of national defense and mine. It is matter of where the line in the sand should be drawn.
ReplyDeleteWith all due repect for Ted and others, I don't agree that a third party is going to work and I don't agree that it is impossible to reform the Republican Party. We who want to redoerm the GOP lnow that it will be a very long road. My response to libertarians is thet when you have enough members in the House and Senate to make a difference, let me know and I will reevaluate my position. Mean while, I will keep working to reform the GOP-
You sound like me just four years ago. After watching the RNC railroad the grassroots out with on the spot rule changes, pre-scripted votes, etc, I think it is clear that they will not bend, but will break first.
DeleteThe numbers of libertarians are definitely growing, which I attribute to the internet and the comparing of notes between the left and right.
I was a conservative because of foreign policy, but when it became obvious to me that something else was going on, that's when I started to dig. What I found, I've documented here that our military and foreign policy is controlled by forces not loyal to the American people. A lot people (especially older folks) cannot entertain that possibility because it is too frightening to imagine. Who's going to defend me if the DHS/FBI breaks down my door and hauls me off to the looney bin for my blog posts? Not the military, they'll just be "following orders". But no one questions from whom these orders come down. That's why Ron Paul got more from the military than from any other candidate, because thank God, the military is more awake than any other group of Americans. That's because they see this stuff coming down before the rest of us.
Larry McDonald, Ron Paul's mentor, "woke up" when he was in the service, to the one-world government agenda. He didn't pull in punches in calling it out:
"The drive of the Rockefellers and their allies is to create a one-world government combining super capitalism and Communism under the same tent, all under their control.... Do I mean conspiracy? Yes I do. I am convinced there is such a plot, international in scope, generations old in planning, and incredibly evil in intent."
Recall he was a sitting US Congressmen blown up in KAL007, which a suspicious lack of investigation.
The big difference I see between libertarians and conservatives is that the libertarians speak in terms of the big picture whereas conservatives don't acknowledge a bigger picture and compartmentalize themselves into thinking along the lines of election cycles and myopic policies.
My wake up call on the powers to be that controls the money in the GOP was when Dwight Henry ran for governor against Ned McWherter. The GOP powers to be in Tennessee wanted McWherter because they wanted a state income tax. Henry was a true conservative and the GOP powers to be in the state made sure the money flow was cut off to him.
ReplyDeleteAs far as defense spending, how much is too much. We have been for years letting the DOD get out of control. Do you remember what happened on SEPTEMBER 10, 2001, the day before 911? There was a joint Congressional hearing that Rumsfeld and some of his lackies were trying to answer "what rat hole did $2 TRILLION disappear into". This was brought about by the auditors of the DOD's findings that this money could not be found. Interesting the next day, a big hole in the side of the Pentagon destroying the computers that kept many of these records and this was on 60 Minutes about a year or so ago. Also, no accounting for billions in cash, pallets of cash, sent to Iraq.
So, where are you going to draw the line on corruption? Reform, get serious.
Oh man, you are sooo OLD!! Ha ha, I barely remember McWherter, just the little A+ education signs that went up with him. Now they're faded jokes. Makes since that the Repubs wanted an income tax, and they tried to use their boy Sunquist to get it through. I do remember the axe the tax rally at the capitol. Sunquist is now so hated, I don't think he can show his face in the state. Especially after TennCare (socialized medicine) bankrupted the state. But may they wanted that for a pretext for an income tax. I was on Tenncare at the time and there was very little that it wouldn't pay for!

Very interesting that the records got blown up! Oh well, what's a couple trill anyway? I guess we just need to buckle down and work harder! There is no reforming hardened criminals, which is what the GOP is at this point.
We're a lot alike RM. Once I started fact checking the statements about the wars that I was hearing in GOP circles (and admittedly repeating), I did a complete 180 on foreign policy. It isn't possible to have a small federal government that controls an empire. I'm at odds with my party over which side of that equation has to change though.
ReplyDeleteAs for the question of who to vote for, I frequent Ron Paul Forums more than Daily Paul. I've seen nobody there who is voting for Romney or Obama. Most are either voting Johnson or writing in Paul.
The vast majority of DP'ers are writing in Paul or voting for Gary, Michael was thorough in all the possibilities mentioned.
DeleteThe foreign policy talking points aren't even based in reality. And when you confront people with the reality, they react like the dems they say that they are smarter than. I like to mention State Department memo 7727, NSM 200, the Reece Committee, the Chicago Project on Terrorism (the ultimate terror attack database), Operation Northwoods, Dark Alliance, John Stockwell, John Perkins, mapping the defense contractor overlap with the megabanks, connecting the UN, World Bank, IMF, BIS and such to really jam the talking point signals, and hopefully get people to stop and think.
