Although the women of the United States are confined within the narrow circle of domestic life, and their situation is, in some respects, one of extreme dependence, I have nowhere seen woman occupying a loftier position; and if I were asked... in which I have spoken of so many important things done by Americans, to what the singular prosperity and growing strength of that people ought mainly to be attributed, I should reply, To the superiority of their women.

Are You a Potential Terrorist If...

Checking myself against a list compiled by Washington's Blog

– Speaking out against government policies (uh oh, I'm sure this blog will be used against me.)
– Protesting anything (er, once again, guilty)
– Questioning war (even though war reduces our national security; and see this)  (yes again)
– Criticizing the government’s targeting of innocent civilians with drones (although killing innocent civilians with drones is one of the main things which increases terrorism. And see this
(I'm a little critical here as well)
– Asking questions about pollution (even at a public Congressional hearing?) (Well, when you have a carbon credit exchange program in place to tax breathing, you've got to ask the questions)
– Paying cash at an Internet cafe (never been, sounds dorky.)
– Asking questions about Wall Street shenanigans  (oh, I do a lot of that, too!)
– Holding gold (too poor, have to horde food instead)
– Creating alternative currencies (no, but I teach kids about them-will they compare me to Socrates?)
– Stocking up on more than 7 days of food (even though all Mormons are taught to stockpile food, and most Hawaiians store up on extra food) (you're insane if you're not stockpiling food)
– Investigating factory farming (I do a lot of that too)
– Infringing a copyright ( I don't infringe deliberately, but when they patent food and silly things, you never know.)
– Taking pictures or videos (not as many as I should)
– Talking to police officers (I avoid them when possible, but I do talk to my stepdad about stuff a good bit)
– Wearing a hoodie ( I don't own a hoodie, so I guess I'm not that suspicious.)
– Driving a van (How else can you travel with five kids?)
– Writing on a piece of paper (Paper can't be digitally deleted.)

Holding the following beliefs may also be considered grounds for suspected terrorism:
– Valuing online privacy (check)
– Supporting Ron Paul or being a libertarian (check, check, check)
– Liking the Founding Fathers (I'm DAR eligible many times over)
– Being a Christian (Check)
– Being “reverent of individual liberty” (I'm totally reverent)
– Being “anti-nuclear” (Depends on what that means)
– “Believe in conspiracy theories” (I don't "believe", I verify facts that are not advertised by the 90% controlled media and find them to be conspiracy fact or not.)
– “Impose strict religious tenets or laws on society (fundamentalists)” (I can only impose my tenets on myself, I can't imagine trying to make others do right too.)
– “Insert religion into the political sphere” (Only when they try to force their godless hellscape into my sphere)
– “Those who seek to politicize religion” (I'm against compartmentalized  people who are different on Sundays than on weekdays.)
– “Supported political movements for autonomy” (I guess that's me too-our current D/R is not autonomous)
– Being “anti-abortion” (Check)
– Being “anti-Catholic” (I'm against the social justice types and those who gave Father Malachi Martin a hard time.)
– Being “anti-global” (I'm against the Tower of Babel because God was against it.)
– “Suspicious of centralized federal authority” (You have to be insane to trust the centralized federal authority.)
– “Fiercely nationalistic (as opposed to universal and international in orientation)” (I support nationalism not just for the US, but for the self-determination of all peoples.)
– “A belief in the need to be prepared for an attack either by participating in … survivalism” (It's the government who's buying up the ammo and stockpiling whilst devaluing the dollar to nothing.)
– Opposing genetically engineered food (Just because they cause horrible tumors in rats after four months doesn't mean it will hurt people, right? Monsanto did their own test for just 90 days--gotta love the irony of cutting their study short. Low tar cigarettes are safe too!)
– Opposing surveillance (Free people don't need to be surveilled.)

Like Rush always used to say "they" will always show you what they're afraid of. It would seem that my blog drips of "potential terrorist". How does your blog or Facebook stack up? If you are flying your American colors of independence and free thought, you better get started. This is a great checklist to make sure you've got all the bases covered.

  2. The song by Buffalo Springfield, For What It's Worth, would be a good theme song for today. Always loved that song. One verse:
    Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid
Step out of line, the men come and take you away.

    Jesus said, "Fear not."
Patrick Henry, "If this be treason, make the most of it."

    "It's time we stop
    Hey, what's that sound?
Everybody look - what's going down?"
