The dream of the social engineers and collectivists of all stripes is a well-ordered society where everyone is working for the good of everyone else. Only problem is that this goes against human nature. Here's a clip from that surreal TV show, The Prisoner, where a man is entrapped in a comfortable seaside "Village" where his every need will be met if he just submits.
For the believer of the Lord Jesus, our future is already waiting for us. If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out my "Are you going to heaven?" video in the upper left. Jesus said, "Fear not, I have overcome the world."
Where the Sphere of Domesticity is Fired Up! And the Memory Hole Gets Stopped Up!
Although the women of the United States are confined within the narrow circle of domestic life, and their situation is, in some respects, one of extreme dependence, I have nowhere seen woman occupying a loftier position; and if I were asked... in which I have spoken of so many important things done by Americans, to what the singular prosperity and growing strength of that people ought mainly to be attributed, I should reply, To the superiority of their women.

Demoralization of Structures: Social Relations
Continuing to illustrate why morality is key to a healthy and stable society, Yuri Bezmenov, that KGB agent who escaped his oppressive regime by disguising himself as a hippie, tell us:
In the area of social life, by encouraging you to put your individual RIGHTS over your OBLIGATIONS (any obligations private, financial, moral, patriotic etc.) the subverter achieves the desired effect: a society composed of IRRESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUALS, each one “doing his own thing,” and acting according to the “law of jungle.” Such subversion of society is the first step to tyranny.
I really don't need to say anymore about this, do I? Anyone can see how this has affected the family, debt burdens, apathetic attitudes, and the disintegration of many areas of our society.
Don't like your spouse? Divorce them! Thanks to no-fault divorce, you don't even have to prove anything! What's that? You want to prove that your spouse did something immoral? Well, we really don't care because it it'll just end the same way, but because divorce is a multi-billion dollar industry, we'll be glad to charge you $250/hr to hear what you think your spouse did "wrong". Just don't watch me doodle on my legal pad.
Are you over-extended on your credit cards? Are you about to lose your house? That's ok, someone will be along to bail you out soon. Don't worry about your "obligations", ok? What's that? What does obligation mean? Well, I could have guessed you'd not heard of that word/concept before or you wouldn't be in this predicament.
Have you heard what's going on in Washington? (Pretend this question was asked 4-5 years ago.) Don't look at me like I'm from space. Don't you care that the Federal Reserve is printing money out of thin air and devaluing your money.
The "ME" generation is the concept that best describes this phenomenon. The law of the jungle, might makes right, "it's ok if I can get away with it" is the prevailing mentality. The duty to make good on one's obligations is a moral mentality that our children are not taught in school. If they were taught this, what would be the rationale behind it. Children will always has "Why?" until they reach the terminus of the question line. If you can't tell the child, 'that's what God said,' and point to it in His word, then they will never have a solid grip on right and wrong. This is important because believing in absolute truth gives one great confidence to face and stand up to whatever challenges to His Righteousness may come. This is the greatest obligation of all.
Happy Memorial Day!

Don't Wait Until November to Take Action - Part 3: Pray!
I'm sure many people who happen to stumble onto this post would scoff/laugh at the thought of prayer changing the magnitude of problems our country faces. If you feel that way, then check out my link in the upper left hand corner entitled "Are You Going to Heaven". Everyone ought to search out and wrestle with this question until they have an answer. God will not hear the prayers of an unrepentant heart.
Let's get into the "way-back" machine and take a close look at how our country started out:
The Great Awakening, occurring in the 1730s- 1740s, set the stage for the American Revolution by creating a cultivating a desire in the population for the freedom and liberty that the Bible promises. The Awakening produced preachers, unafraid of 501c regulations, espoused political thought from the pulpit. I'll spotlight a few preachers who were essential to the founding of our nation.
Rev. Johnathan Mayhew - He began preaching against the tyranny of England in 1750. The famous American historian George Bancroft said of Mayhew:
Our nation came to be by a series of miracles: from Dorchester Heights, Valley Forge, to the other innumerable factors that led our defeating the world's strongest military, prayer was at the center of it all.
Hear how our first Congress did business and think about our currentCongress godless-tyrannical-useful-idiot-patrol conducts themselves:
Read the Psalm they read and you will find that it is perfect for our times as well, when tyranny is lurking around every corner and in every new regulation:
Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.
Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help.
Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.
Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.
Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them.
Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them.
For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul.
Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall.
And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation.
All my bones shall say, LORD, who is like unto thee, which deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoileth him?
False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not.
They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul.
But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom.
I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth for his mother.
But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: yea, the abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not:
With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.
Lord, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions.
I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.
Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.
For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land.
Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.
This thou hast seen, O LORD: keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me.
Stir up thyself, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord.
Judge me, O LORD my God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me.
Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up.
Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me.
Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.
There is a spiritual component to all that is going on in our country today that hardly anyone is talking about. Just consider our "dear leader," Barack Obama, who I believe was spiritually abused as a child. I bet that he never went to VBS or Sunday School seeing how his mom was not religious. I think he may have tried to identify as a Muslim to fit in with his dad's world. Ultimately, he winds up in a black liberation church that blasphemes God's name and now attends no church at all. I believe, based on the way he talks, that he is his own god and really doesn't give it much thought. We ought to be fervently praying for this man that God would soften his heart and make him wise unto salvation. We ought to be praying for all these lefty tyranny types because they are really pawns in a much larger, spiritual game. Ephesians 6:12 makes it plain: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
When all of this becomes to much for me to fathom, I repeat this verse to keep me anchored:
Philippians 4:4-9
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
To sum it all up, is the Alex Harris family singing I Can Pray.
The Dove Brothers did the original version, which is awesome, too.

Rev. Johnathan Mayhew - He began preaching against the tyranny of England in 1750. The famous American historian George Bancroft said of Mayhew:
Whoever repeat the story of the Revolution will rehearse the fame of Mayhew. He spent whole nights in prayer for the dangers of this country. Light dawned on his mind on a Sabbath morning of July, 1766, and he wrote to Otis saying, "You have heard of the communion [unity] of the churches; while I was thinking of this..[the] importance of the communion of the colonies appeared to me in a striking light. Would it not be decorous in our Assembly to send circulars to all the rest (of the colonies) expressing a desire to cement a union amoung ourselves? .. It may be the only means of perpetuating our liberties." "This suggestion," said Bancroft "of a more perfect union for the common defense originating with Mayhew, was the first public expression of the future Union which has been the glory of the American republic; and it came from a clergyman, on a Sabbath morning, under the inspiration of Heaven."Rev. Samuel Davies - He was a lawyer, an ambassador to England (before the Revolution), and was President of Prinecton. E.L. Magoon writes:
He had made himself a a thorough master of English law, civil and ecclesiastical, and always chose to meet every persecuting indictment in the highest courts with his own plea... He went to England and obtained the explicit sanction of the highest authority with respect to the extension of the Toleration Law to Virginia. It was during this mission that...George II and many of his court were in the congregation of this preacher. When his majesty spoke several times to thsoe around him "Davies paused a moment, and then looking sternly at the king, exclaimed, "When the lion roars the beasts of the forest all tremble; and when King Jesus speaks the princes of the earth should keep silence."Rev. John Witherspoon - A signer of the Declaration, who was a mentor to James Madison and also discipled many of our early leaders. Here is an excerpt from his sermon, "The Dominion of Providence over the Affairs of Men:"
Upon the whole, I beseech you to make a wise improvement of the present threatening aspect of public affairs and to remember that your duty to God, to your country, to your families, and to yourselves is the same. True religion is nothing else but an inward temper and outward conduct suited to your state and circumstance in Providence at any time. And as peace with God and conformity to Him, adds to the sweetness of created comforts while we possess them, so in times of difficulty and trial, it is in the man of piety and inward principle that we may expect to find the uncorrupted patriot, the useful citizen, and the invincible soldier, -- God grant that in America true religion and civil liberty may be inseparable, and the unjust attempts to destroy the one may in the issue tend to the support and establishment of both. These excerpts come from the book America's Providential History, which contains all that good stuff omitted in your state-sponsored textbooks.
Our nation came to be by a series of miracles: from Dorchester Heights, Valley Forge, to the other innumerable factors that led our defeating the world's strongest military, prayer was at the center of it all.
Hear how our first Congress did business and think about our current
When the Congress met, Mr. Cushing made a motion that it should be opened with Prayer. It was opposed by Mr. Jay of New York and Mr. Rutledge of South Carolina because we were so divided in religious sentiments, some Episcopalians, some Quakers, some Anabaptists, some Presbyterians and some Congregationalists, that we could not join in the same act of worship. Mr. Samuel Adams arose and said, "that he was no bigot; and could hear a Prayer from any gentleman of Piety and virtue who was at the same time a friend to his Country. He was a stranger in Philadelphia, but had heard that Mr. Duche` deserved that character and therefore he moved that Mr. Duche' an Episcopal clergy man, might be desired to read Prayers to Congress tomorrow morning." The motion was seconded, and passed in the affirmative. Mr. Randolph, our president waited on Mr. Duche` and received for answer, that if his health would permit, he certainly would. Accordingly next morning he appeared with his clerk and in his pontificals, and read several Prayers in the established form and then read the Psalter for the seventh day of September which was the 35th Psalm. You must remember this was the next morning after we had heard the rumor of the horrible cannonade of Boston, "it seemed as if Heaven had ordained that Psalm to be read on that morning." After this, Mr Duche` unexpectedly to everybody, struck out into extemporary Prayer, which filled the bosom of every man present. I must confess I never heard a better Prayer, one so well pronounced. Episcopalian as he is, Dr. Cooper himself never prayed with such fervor, such order, such correctness, and pathos, and in language so elegant and sublime for America, for Congress, for the Province of Massachusetts Bay, especially the town of Boston. It had excellent effect upon every body here. I must beg you to read the Psalm. Here was a scene worthy of the printers art. It was in Carpenter's Hall, in Philadelphia, a building which still survives, that the devoted individuals met to whom this service was read. Washington was kneeling there, and Henry, Randolph, Rutledge, Lee, and Jay, and by their side there stood bowed in reverence, the Puritan Patriots of New England, who at that moment had reason to believe that an armed soldiery was wasting their humble households. It was believed that Boston had been bombarded and destroyed. They prayed fervently "for America, for Congress, for the Province of Massachusetts Bay, and especially for the town of Boston", and who can realize the emotions with which they turned imploringly to Heaven for Divine interposition and aid. "It was enough", says Mr. Adams to melt a heart of stone. I saw the tears gush into the eyes of the old, grave Pacific Quakers of Philadelphia."
-John Adams Letter to Abigail Adams, September 7, 1774
Read the Psalm they read and you will find that it is perfect for our times as well, when tyranny is lurking around every corner and in every new regulation:
Psalm 35
Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help.

Demoralization of Government Structure - Law and Order
After seeing how the leftists subvert the ideas of their target country, in these previous posts involving media, religion, education, and mass culture, we will now move on the the next level with our host Yuri Bezmenov:
Let's back up a minute and examine each of these structures and how leftist thought has infiltrated each one:
1. Judicial and Law-enforcement system
FDR famously called the judges on the Supreme Court, "those nine old men", because they weren't convinced that the New Deal programs were at all constitutional. Those nine old men were probably our last line of defense, protecting us from the ungodly entitlement system that is crippling our nation today. These old men had gone to law school before Soviet Revolution. Back then, it was anarchists that were the big counter cultural group threatening America. So let's look at this last court before the era of massive federal programs and entitlements. With the exception of one justice, the entire court had been appointed by Republican presidents of yore. They all attended law school in the 1870s and 1880s and were strict interpreters--you wouldn't catch them calling the Constitution a "living document." Riding the wave of populism, and "not letting a crisis go to waste", FDR packed the court with his people. I'm not going to go on and on about it, as volumes on this subject have already been written.
The FDR Supreme Court paved the way for the more liberal Warren court, which presided over the Bible being removed from schools, and by proxy, public discourse. The progressivism that Woodrow Wilson extolled, and remember FDR was in his cabinet, metastasized into the New Deal. That progressivism wasn't at all based on the original American ideal that God gives us our inalienable rights, but that human intellect can solve problems if just the right programs are implemented with the right people collaborating at the right time. You know the special people who are smart and have pieces of paper telling them that they are smart. This train of thought gave us our current education and monetary systems. Go read an Andrew Napolitano book to learn more about the judicial system being co-opted by radicals. As far as law enforcement goes, what do you think the founding father's would think of declaring a war on drugs after our experiment with alcohol prohibition didn't go so well? Check out this Reason post on the increasing militarization of law enforcement.
2. Public organizations and institutions dealing with RELATIONS between individuals, groups and classes of the society - There's so many non-profits advocating, supposedly, for the "poor", you can't swing a dead cat without hitting one. These organizations might disguise themselves as charities, but are leftist political groups underneath. CAIR is an example of an organization dealing with the relationship betweenjihadist Jew-hating Muslims and the rest of America. Can you believe they tried to intimidate the Tennessee Tea Party into not letting Pamella Geller speak? What a bunch of maroons!
3. Security and defense organs- There's something amiss in our nation's security, when a large swath of our officials do not want to secure our borders. Why? Because they are globalists. They pine for reduced sovereignty, eventually leading to a global government. Political correctness is rampant in the military and seems to be put at a higher priority than the mission of protecting our citizens. This is classic subversion at work.
4. Internal political parties and groups- There is no end to the non-profit goody-two-shoes out there. This would include ACORN, unions, anyone who is in a group calling themselves an "activist."
5. Foreign policy formulating bodies both governmental and non-governmental (“think-tanks,” academia, “sovietology advisors” etc.)- There are more of these groups than ever before. George Soros funds his fair share of leftists think tanks i.e. Media Matters, MoveOn.org. We also have those wonderful foundations: Carnegie, Ford, and Rockefeller, which have been working to make a more manageable society for over 100 years now.
Since we are so far removed from our roots as a righteous, God-fearing people, our laws are now more legislative, and not so moral. Good law should be rooted in morality, that idea expounded upon in "Mere Christianity", that there is a natural law in this world. In our postmodern environment, where morality is not discussed publicly because it has been demoralized away, we see that our laws being passed are very arbitrary in their moral foundation, and the population is too busy with their mass culture to notice or care. It reminds me of the prophet Jeremiah, who knew that destruction was coming to Jerusalem and no one would listen to him, they were too busy with their happy-go-lucky lives.
The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.
Note: All Bezmenov quotes are from his pamphlet, "Love Letter to America" h/t Useless Dissident
That's right, you can't commit crimes if you're locked in a gulag or were executed in a ditch. That kind of enforcement truly does reduce crime. For example, look at what is done by SWAT teams in the name of drug crime enforcement.THE SECOND LEVEL OF DEMORALIZATION: STRUCTURES
There is a Russian proverb which says: “The sly head gives no rest to the arms.” Let us see what Communist subversion does to your “arms”-- the socio / political/economical STRUCTURES of America. The areas of application for demoralizing American structures are: 1. Judicial and Law-enforcement system; 2. Public organizations and institutions dealing with RELATIONS between individuals, groups and classes of the society; 3. Security and defense organs; 4. Internal political parties and groups; 5. Foreign policy formulating bodies both governmental and non-governmental (“think-tanks,” academia, “sovietology advisors” etc.)
In the area of “Law and Order,” the method of demoralization is to promote and enforce the prevalence of the “legalistic” approach over the “moral” one. Several generations of American lawyers and law-makers, graduating from the 'liberal' (that is LEFTIST, Socialist¬oriented) schools, after long-time exposure to the Socialist IDEOLOGY, have already created an atmosphere in the U.S. judicial system whereby “underprivileged” criminals are treated as a “victims” of the “cruel American society,” and the real victim (the law-abiding society) is turned into defenseless and very underprivileged citizens and taxpayers, PAYING for a comparatively comfortable life of the criminal in or outside prison. The result is as predictable as it is desirable for the subverter: MISTRUST of the American population towards their own judicial and law-enforcement system, and people demanding harsher punishments and stricter CONTROLS in order to fight crime. And what could be better than Soviet or Communist-type control? Even your 'liberal' media claims that there is no street crime in Moscow and no drug problem in the USSR.
Let's back up a minute and examine each of these structures and how leftist thought has infiltrated each one:

Demoralization of ideas - Mass Culture
You know how the old folks said that rock and roll was the devil's music? They were right. Don't roll your eyes so fast, read what Yuri, aka Tomas Shuman has to say:
I've heard conservative pundits say this administration is out of control. Is this by design? I've heard all my life that the country went of the rails in the sixties when the attitudes of the Baby Boomers broke from the traditional norms. Maybe Joe McCarthy had a point. You remember how much the textbooks discredit him, right? (For those not following this series, discredit was a recent vocabulary word in the demoralizing media post.)
I discussed the reasons for things following apart in the Boomer era in the previous posts on education and religion. Just think about how our society, the media, education system, etc. discourages traditional authority: God, elders, and parents. It works day and night to replace them with the authority of government, peer groups, and "anything goes" as long as it doesn't go against government and mass artificial morality (whatever is political correct at the time.)
There's another dimension to the pop culture phenomenon that is destabilizing to our society and that is the fad aspect. Everybody's talking (morons who don't know what voting district they're in) about American Idol or some such nonsense and don't realize that they're being led to the slaughter. In this way, pop culture has a hypnotizing effect on a population, like a snake before it eats the prey.
Here's my relevant pop culture analogy: The Soviet/commie/collectivist subversion of our country is like the Dharma Initiative. It set up a hatch connected to a button that had to be pushed every so often. The commies set the demoralization process. Like Dharma, the Soviet union is no more, or so they say, but the button is still being pushed by American citizens. However, instead of the button pushing saving lives, it destroys them one divorce, one lost freedom, and one lost soul at a time.
These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you. As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him. Now, little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not shrink away from Him in shame at His coming. If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness is born of Him. --- I John 2:26-28

Years ago, when I was scanning through a pile of Western newspapers in Novosti's Moscow headquarters, I came across a column written by a Canadian writer, Gregory Clark in the “Toronto Star.” Here it is in full. I have saved it for my files:
If I were a Communist agent in America with millions of dollars to spend annually I would not waste it in bribing pubic servants to give away state secrets. But I would lavish and encourage the sleazy tune-smiths of that region to turnout more and more garage 'culture'... Gaggled-headed and obscure musicians would be helped to prominence. I would seek out the more questionable publishers of the dirtier paperbacks and slip them a few hundred thousand so they could set up more respectable head offices. Wherever trend shows towards the beat generation I would offer it a helping hand. Anything that prompted the insubordination of teenagers, anything that contributes to the confusion and exasperation of parents would be most liberally endowed. The basic intention of my spending would be to break down the discipline, encourage relaxation of authority of every kind so as to build up, in as short time as possible, an adult generation that could easily go out of control.
America would look desperately around for any kind of discipline to rescue them and THERE-- pretty as a picture, would be Communism, the most iron-fisted discipline since Sparta. The victory would be bloodless... Except of course in concentration camps, torture, prisons, and few things like that. But nobody would know about that because of censorship of the press.
This was written in 1959! The accuracy of this description of OUR activity stunned me. We had just completed 'helping a gaggle-headed' Communist entertainer, Yves Montand to 'prominence' in Moscow and were halfway through with publicly elevating 'obscure' Indian filmmaker Raj Kapoor to 'fame.’ The editorial offices of Novosti were teaming with 'sleazy' foreign singers, poets, writers, artists, musicians and 'intellectuals' coming to my country for support in their 'progressive struggle' against their own 'decadent capitalist' societies...
There is not much I can add to that statement of a wise Canadian columnist today. Yes, KGB encourages DEMORALIZATION of America through the 'mass culture' by relying upon the help of the “useful idiots” of the entertainment business. No, the Beatles, Punks and Michael Jackson are not on the KGB payroll. They are on YOUR payroll. All the KGB had to do is to slowly and gradually CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDES and kill your RESISTANCE to the demoralizing addiction your kids call 'music,’ make it acceptable, NORMAL; make it a part of 'American culture' where it does not belong and never did.
